Extenda Retail delivers virtual shopping solution to Coop Sverige AB

Global retail software company Extenda Retail will deliver its cloud-based virtual shopping solution to leading Swedish grocery retailer Coop Sverige AB (hereafter Coop Sverige). Coop Sverige has chosen Extenda Retail as a partner in its digitalization journey. One of the first products to be launched in that cooperation is Extenda Retail’s virtual shopping solution, which will be a part of the soon-to-be-launched Coop Scan & Pay customer app. The app will make it possible for customers to use their mobile phones to scan and pay for items when shopping in-store. The Coop Scan & Pay app will be launched during the fall of 2020, and the rollout will eventually include all Coop Sverige’s stores across Sweden.

Part of Extenda Retail’s ‘Hii Retail’ concept – a library of cloud-based, value-adding applications – the virtual shopping solution uses an omnichannel pricing engine that inherits pricing, offers, and promotions from Coop Sverige’s existing POS system. With the solution, the retailer can offer a frictionless shopping alternative for customers who want to shop independently or minimize time spent inside physical stores.

Additionally, the companies are continuously looking at developing the partnership and exploring other solutions that can further enhance Coop Sverige’s digital offering in the future.
